Richard Douglas Lott

Richard Douglas Lott, 75, loving father and devoted fisherman, passed at Burke Palliative Care Center on Sunday, August 7, 2011. Born in Endicott, NY on April 15, 1936, he was the son of the late Harry Lott and Cleo Buck Lott. Mr. Lott was a retired engineer for IBM.He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Brittain and husband, Marty, of Valdese, NC and a brother, Roger Lott of Endwell, NY.In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Phoebe Lott, two brothers, and one sister.The memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Mr. Jeff Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pamela Garrison, Amanda Nowatka, and the staff at Burke County Hospice for their remarkable care and friendship.
