Richard Lee Hurt

Richard Lee Hurt, 53, of Morganton died Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He was born in Burke County on March 4, 1961 and was a son of Paul Hurt of Morganton and the late Alma Aldridge. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Aldridge. Richard was a member of Victory Chapel Baptist Church.Surviving in addition to his father is his son, Richard Hurt, Jr.; brothers, Alvin Hurt and wife Sherry, Gary Hurt and wife, Brandy, and Albert Hurt; and by a sister, Becky Aldridge all of Morganton.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Victory Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. Rufus Edmisten officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sossoman Funeral Home, PO Box 2608, Morganton, NC 28680 to assist with funeral expenses.
