Richard Lee Lackey

Richard Lee Lackey, 27, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, February 13, 2014. Born in Catawba County, NC on December 7, 1986, he was the son of Ricky and Nancy Miller Lackey. Mr. Lackey was of the Baptist faith. He was a Carolina fan, enjoyed driving his Nissan Maxima, and loved to work with his hands. Richard was devoted to his children; they were his pride and joy. He loved all his family.Mr. Lackey is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lackey; his children, Kaleya Lackey, Jacob Lynch, and Kerstian Lackey; a brother, Rickey Lackey and his wife, Jesse; nephews, Damarcus Laws, Rickey Lackey, and Raidon Lackey; aunts and uncles, Miller, Lackey, Dean, Trivette, Blankenship, Kimmy Miller, and Cindy Miller; and his grandmother, Thelma Clanton.Richard was preceded in death by three grandparents, Anna Miller, Bobby Lackey, and Robert Miller.The funeral will be held at 6pm, Monday, February 17, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Stephenson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-6pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center to assist with funeral expenses.
