Richard “Rick” Stephens

Richard “Rick” Stephens, 69, of Morganton, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020. He was born on March 2, 1950 in Omaha, NE to the late Robert Jerome Stephens and Mildred Moriarity Stephens. Rick was a member of Crosslink Church and a Veteran of the US Navy. When he lived in Florida, he owned and operated Rick’s Fish Hatchery and Environmental Lab in Sebring, FL. He moved to NC in 2005.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Melinda Corday and Dianne McCrill; brother, Paul Stephens.

Rick is survived by his wife, Deanna DeMoura Stephens; stepson, Shane; half-sister, Emily; brothers, Robert and Bryan.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm, Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Crosslink Life Center. A Celebration of Rick’s Life will follow at 1:00pm in the church with the Rev. Jonathan Reece officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
