Ricky Byrl Presnell, 66, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Born in Davidson County, NC on February 11, 1954, he was the son of the late Murvle “Ned” Presnell and Annie Vita Fender Presnell Trantham. He was a veteran of the US Army. Ricky was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed being outdoors and fishing.
Mr. Presnell is survived by his wife, Donna Brooks Presnell of the home; son, Richard Wayne Presnell; daughter, Shelia Presnell Moorefield (Ron); grandchildren, Cody Allen Sullivan, Joseph Dylan Moorefield, and Olivia Rayne Moorefield; great-grandsons, Keyton Dean; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen Presnell.
A private family graveside service will be held at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Nathan Roten officiating. Military honors will be provided by the NC National Guard.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
