Ricky Steve Pearson, 65, of Morganton, NC, went to his heavenly home on Friday, December 27, 2024.
Born March 13, 1959 in Burke County, he was the son of Paulette King-Pearson and the late Russell Lee Pearson.
Ricky was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church and a former member of Burkemont Baptist Church. He graduated from Freedom High School and attended Western Piedmont Community College. Mr. Pearson worked at Winn-Dixie, Mom and Pops Ham House, Western Steer Steak House, Everett Chevrolet, Century Furniture in Hickory, as a security guard at Freedom High School, at the Burke/Catawba County Jail, and R & R Metal Works. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, auctions, and going to the flea markets.
Ricky is survived by his mother and a sister, Terry P. Horton; brothers, James R. Pearson (Jane) and John Paul Pearson; three nephews; two nieces; two great-nephews; a great-niece; and special friends, Kim Berryhill and Gary Woody.
In addition to his father, Ricky was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Harold Horton.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at El Bethel Baptist Church. A celebration of Ricky’s life will follow in the church with Revs. Justin Cunningham and Rev. Corey Galli officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
