Rita Willis Carswell, 85 of Lenoir, NC passed away, Friday, April 28, 2023. Born on February 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Max and Nancy Willis. Rita was a member of North Morganton United Methodist Church. She was an amazing person with a grateful heart. Rita was strong in her faith, loved her family dearly, and was always willing to help anyone in need.
Rita is survived by her sons, Rick Hoyle (Lydia), Keith Hoyle (Sharon), Tracy Carswell (Sandra), and Kevin Carswell; Wendy Hayworth (Todd); 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren,
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband Charles Wayne Carswell; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
There will be a private family service held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children in her name.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
