Robert "Bob" Campbell

Robert “Bob” Campbell, 74, of Morganton, NC passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Grace Hospital after a brief illness. Born on April 6, 1946 in Cabarrus County he was the son of the late Ive Lee Campbell and Ethel Hooper Campbell. He attended Zion Memorial United Methodist Church for several years and was faithful to the church. Bob made his living as a long haul truck driver. He retired from Zenith Freight Lines and had worked at Poteat Motor Lines for 21 years. He loved to fish and he loved people. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Fitzgerald Campbell; 3 step-sons; 5 step-grandchildren.

Friends may pay their respects to Bob from 12pm to 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2pm at the funeral home with Dr. Stephen Pickard officiating assisted by Rev. George Williams. Burial will follow at Zion Memorial United Methodist Church.
