Robert Christopher Pope

Robert Christopher Pope, 40, of Mini Acres Lane, Hickory, NC died Monday, July 30, 2007, following several months of declining health. He was born in Burke County, NC on April 24, 1967 and was a son of Johnny A. and Kay Woodie Pope with whom Robert had recently made his home.Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Phyllis C. Pope; his daughter, Kerstin VanHuss, of Granite Falls; his sister, Carol Richey, of Morganton; his grandfather, Aubrey Duncan, of Morganton; nephew, E. J. Starnes; and a niece, Sydney Richey.Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virginia Woodie Duncan and Guy and Viola Pope.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007, at Royal Chapel Church of God with Rev. Dennis Pitts officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sossoman Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of his parents, Johnny and Kay Pope, 1155 Mini Acres Lane, Hickory.
