Robert David Miles

Robert David Miles, age 62, passed from this life to heaven January 7, 2021 at his home in Morganton. Born February 24, 1958, in Asheboro, NC, David was the son of the late Bertha Roland Miles and the late Reverend E. H. Miles. He was also preceded in death by his eldest brother, Reverend Douglas Miles. A graduate of J H Rose Senior High School in Greenville, NC, David also studied music at UNCG and Appalachian State University. David was always involved in church music ministry. He was presently the Music Leader for St. Matthews United Methodist Church, in Morganton, NC. They enjoyed his gospel stylings on the piano. He also had been a part of their mission ministry, Open Hearts Bakery. David was a gifted floral arranger and used this talent for his own business, churches, various cruise lines, florists, and Disney World in Orlando.

David is survived by his brother, Richard Miles (Melanie) of Stella, NC, by his niece, Laura Miles McClellan and daughter, Caroline of Kentucky, by his nephew, Nathan (Andrea) and daughter Ella of Maryland; and by his sister-in-law, Joyce Miles of China Grove.

A private burial service will take place soon, but a Memorial Service for all is planned at a later date due to COVID restrictions.
