Robert George Guy, 81, of Morganton, NC died Friday, August 30, 2013. Born April 8, 1932 in Syracuse, New York, he was a son of the late Kenneth Guy and Mildred Barry Guy. Robert was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Morganton.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mary Elizabeth Chambers Guy; his daughter, Bonnie Guy and her husband, Bob Goddard of Boone, NC; and grandchildren, Don, Gerald, Michael, Ben, and Gracie Goddard.In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane Guy; and brothers, Ken and Don Guy.The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Adam Bowling officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
