Robert “Jack” Shelton, 86, of Morganton, NC passed away August 9th, 2022. Born March 24th, 1936 in Jonesboro, TN to the late William Karr Shelton and Mamie Louise Treadway Shelton. Jack was a member of Mount Home Baptist Church in Morganton. Jack loved and adored his wife, Margie of 67 years, and loved his family and friends and would help them anyway he could.
He loved watching his boys play baseball and watching the Yankee’s play baseball. He also loved to watch the UNC Tarheels play basketball. He enjoyed going to the apple orchard to pick and eat apples. He worked at Burke Auto Supply for 20 years. He also started and managed M & C Auto Parts.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by brothers Donald Ray Shelton and David Shelton.
Jack is survived by his wife Margie Faye Shelton; sons Robert “Danny” Shelton and Mark Anthony Shelton; grandsons Eric Shelton, Chad Shelton, and Joshua Shelton; great-grandchildren Anthony, Alissa and Callie; sister Virginia Gold; brother Mack Carl Shelton.
The Family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Tuesday, August 16th 2022 at Mt. Home Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2pm, with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
