Robert "Keith" Fruitticher

Robert "Keith" Fruitticher, 72, of Morganton, NC, passed away on February 29, 2024, at his home after a courageous fourth time battle with cancer.
Mr. Fruitticher, born on July 31, 1951, in Atlanta, GA, was a beloved husband to Mary Sue (Chester) Fruitticher. He was a devoted family man with a passion for nature and a knack for automotive repair and restoration, construction, electrical work, and carpentry.
His career was marked by dedication and hard work. He started as a seasonal tax examiner for Internal Revenue Service and later obtained a business degree at Georgia State University. After graduation, he worked for Proudfoot Consulting. Eventually, he found his true calling as a service technician/specialist with Honda, where he dedicated over 25 years of service.
In his free time and younger years, Mr. Fruitticher enjoyed fishing, archery, boating, and automotive restoration. He was a man of many talents and interests.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue (Chester) Fruitticher of Morganton, NC, brothers Barton (Elaine) and Jeroy (Joan) Fruitticher of McDonough, GA, in addition to cousins, nieces, and nephews; as well as stepchildren Suzanne (Paul) Fogleman III, of Hickory, NC, Randy (Cara) Hawkins, of Woodstock, GA, step grandchildren Paul IV and Austin Fogleman of Hickory, NC, Eric (Julia) Hawkins and step great-grandchild, Lily Anne, of Flowery Branch, GA, Nick Hawkins and step great-grandchild, Bo, of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Edna Dodd Fruitticher.
A memorial service was held for immediate family Monday, March 4, 2024, at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Hickory, NC, with lunch immediately following at the home of Paul (Martha) Fogleman, Sr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Mr. Fruitticher's honor to the American Cancer Society or The Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Hickory, NC.
