Robert L. Wilkinson, 67, of Oakwood St., Morganton, NC, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. Born in Oakland, MI on December 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Victor Alvert Wilkinson and Helen Mills Wilkinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.
Robert was "a jack of all trades" and lived a full life. As a young boy he learned to repair watches, became a jeweler, served in the US Air Force, flew planes, raced motorcycles, was a mechanic, and later in life became a computer technician and programmer. Even with all of that, what he was most skilled at other than singing was being an honest man to his family and friends.
Mr. Wilkinson is survived by his wife, Vilai Phuramart Wilkinson of the home; a son, Albert Wilkinson of Hilo, HI; daughters, Thipsuda Wilkinson of Oahu, HI and Vanthipaya McCall of the home; and a brother, Ralph Wilkinson of Wisconsin.
No services are planned at this time. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
