Robert Lee Duckworth

Robert Lee Duckworth, 77, of Morganton, NC passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017.  Born in Burke County, NC on June 2, 1939, he was the son of the late Lucius Frank Duckworth and Wilma Elizabeth Tallent Duckworth.  He was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church for over 50 years.  Robert enjoyed fishing, bowling, and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves.  He loved his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Duckworth is survived by his wife, Catherine McNeely Duckworth of the home; daughters, Pam Helms and husband, Lee, of Vale, NC and Sandie Rayburn and husband, Lee, of Morganton; grandchildren, Cody Rayburn, April Helms, and Robert helms; and a sister, JoAnn Carver of Morganton.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 pm, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Matthews United Methodist Church.  The memorial service will follow at 4:30 pm in the church with the Rev. Heather Kilbourne officiating.  At other times the family will be at the residence on Oak Forest Drive, Morganton.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
