Robert Lee Wilson

Robert Lee Wilson, 46, of the Brian Center in Brevard, NC died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born April 3, 1961 in Burke County, NC, and was a son of Louise Wilson of Glen Alpine, NC, and the late James Edward Wilson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Edward Wilson. Robert graduated from Freedom High School in 1979, and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.In addition to his mother, he is survived by sisters, Kathy James of Tampa, FL, and Patricia Diane Wilson of the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center; nieces, Janiene Groves and Andrea Carter; and a nephew, Anthony Carter, Jr.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2007 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph McGaha officiating. Entombment will be in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the mother’s residence on Bivens Dr. off Jamestown Rd. in Morganton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nebo First Baptist Church Awana Program, 5360 US 70 E, Nebo, NC 28761.
