Robert Livingston West, age 92, of Morganton, NC, died April 18, 2006 after a brief illness. Born near Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late Landon Page West and Mary Livingston West.
Mr. West retired twice. The first time was from the former Reynolds Metal Company in Richmond, VA. The second retirement was from the town of South Hill, VA where he served as building inspector. Mr. West was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Sallie Townsend West; one daughter, Margaret Miller and husband, Fred, of Morganton; two granddaughters, Sallie Usher and husband, John, and Diana Chiaravalloti and husband, Gino; and two great-grandsons, Nicholas Miller Chiaravalloti and John West Usher.
Funeral services will be conducted at Calvary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2006 with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
