Robey Wilson, Jr.

Robey Wilson, Jr., 76, of Morganton, NC traveled to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Born in Morganton on August 8, 1940, he was the son of the late Robey Lee Wilson and Maybell Denton Wilson. In addition to his parents, Robey was preceded in death by a son, Rev. Robey Alan Wilson; and a sister, Katherine Burns. Mr. Wilson enjoyed family gatherings, hunting, working on cars, and Duke basketball. He retired from Dana, Inc. in 2000.

Robey is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Barus Wilson of the home; a daughter, Lisa Wilson Lowdermilk and her husband, Kevin; a daughter-in-law, Lonna Carpenter Wilson; granddaughters, Alana Wilson Parks and her husband, Christopher, Brittany Baker, and Allie Lowdermilk; a brother, Leonard Wilson and his wife, Betty, of Valdese, NC; and two sisters, Ruby Lail of Valdese, NC and Mary Ann Mull of Valdosta, GA.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 pm, Sunday, November 20, 2016 in the fellowship hall at Salem United Methodist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 pm in the church sanctuary with the Rev. Norman Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
