Ron Ray

Ron Ray, 55, of Hwy 70 East, Morganton, NC went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 19, 2010. Born in Portsmouth, VA on May 16, 1955, he was the son of the late Jackson Ray and Doris Jean Reynolds Ray. Ron attended Snow Hill United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of McDowell High School and worked for Baxter for over 15 years. He has also worked at B.A.S.F.Ron is survived by his wife, Kathy Elder Ray of the home; children, Courtney Ray of Old Fort, NC, Charles Smith of Morganton, and Jennifer Smith of Morganton; a granddaughter, Sophia Smith; brothers, Jack Ray and Kevin Ray, both of Marion, NC; and a number of nephews and nieces.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
