Ronald Franklin Metcalf

Ronald Franklin Metcalf, 77, of Morganton died Saturday, December 1, 2012 while surrounded by his family. Born in Burke County, NC on June 25, 1935, he was the son of the late Clyde Burnell Metcalf and Ollie Vera Farr Metcalf.He is survived by his wife, Jackie Stephens Metcalf of the home; sons, Ronald F. Metcalf, Jr. and his wife, Janet McCoy Metcalf, of Easley, SC, Darrell B. Metcalf and his wife, Millie Woods Metcalf, of Winston-Salem, NC, R. Tony Metcalf and his wife, Rhonda Patterson Metcalf, of Morganton, and Jeffrey S. Metcalf and his wife, Lisa Lowdermilk Metcalf, of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren, Ryan Metcalf, Tyler Metcalf and his wife, Teresa, Derrick Metcalf, Ronald F. "Tripp" Metcalf, III and his wife, Stacey, Spencer Metcalf and his wife, Tara, Alona Metcalf, and Brandy Metcalf; great-grandchildren, Briar, Daniel, Brenna, and Callie Rae; an honorary great-grandson, Bryson; a brother, Merle Metcalf.The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2012 at El Bethel Baptist Church with Reverends Ron Cooper and Justin Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to El Bethel Baptist Church, Youth Fund, P.O.
