Ronald James Regan

Ronald James Regan, 53, of Halloway Street, Hickory, NC, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born in Caldwell County, NC on June 30, 1954, he was the son of the late Rev. Dewey Clyde Regan and Myrl B. Regan. Ronald was of the Baptist Faith and a skilled craftsman. He was plant manager for Kontane, Inc. in Hickory. He treated his employees well and was great to work for.Ronald is survived by his children, Ronald James Regan, Jr. of Valdese, NC, Angela Regan of Drexel, NC, and Chris Benfield of Icard, NC; sisters, Bobbie Campbell and husband, Leonard, of Maiden, NC and Betty Jane Reece and husband, Larry, of Pawley’s Island, SC; brother, D.C. Regan, Jr., and wife, Ann, of Drexel, Jerry Regan of Connelly Springs, NC, David Regan and wife, Teresa, of Valdese, NC, and Gary Regan of Drexel; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Edna Benfield Regan, and a sister, Myrlene R. Byrd.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
