Ronald Phifer Carswell

Ronald Phifer Carswell, 74, of Morganton passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017.  Born in Burke County, NC on May 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Jethro C. Carswell and Blanche Callie Clark Carswell.  Ronald was a veteran of the NC National Guard and retired from Dana Corporation in 2002.

Mr. Carswell is survived by his son, Matthew Christopher Carswell and his wife, Heather West Carswell; grandchildren, Riley, Kennedy, and Nate Carswell; brothers, Donald and Gary Carswell; sisters, Doris Beach, Elizabeth McEwen, and Hazel Dale; and his former wife & friend, Donna Carswell.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Leonard, Bill, and Millard Carswell.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Saturday, August 19, 2017 at at the home of his son, Matt (114 Powe Street) in downtown Morganton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Library Foundation of Burke County, 204 S. King Street, Morganton, NC 28655.
