Ronnie Sidney Scott, 64, of Morganton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February, 7, 2008 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 29, 1943 in Burke County, he was the son of Nettie Scott of Glen Alpine and the late James L. Scott. Ronnie was a U. S. Army Vietnam veteran and he recently retired from Earthgrains/Sara Lee Bakery. For 10 years, Mr. Scott was a volunteer firefighter with the West End Fire Department where he served on the board for 5 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a loving son, father, brother, and grandfather.Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 42 years, Edna Johnson Scott of the home; his daughter, Brooke Mullins and her husband, James of Morganton; a special granddaughter, Melina Keller of Morganton; 3 sisters of Glen Alpine and 1 sister of New Jersey."Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a memory no none can steal."A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. Alford Zadig and Father John Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Memorial gifts may be made to West End Fire Department, P. O.
