Rosa Lee Battle Graybeal

Rosa Lee Battle Graybeal, 84, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born on January 13, 1926 in Burke County to the late Joseph Walker Battle and Bessie Lee Clay Battle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Kester Graybeal; brothers, James Franklin Battle, Herbert Walker Battle, and Charles Milton Battle; sister, Mary Elizabeth Fleming Harbison; half-brother, William Allen Kincaid; and half-sister, Betty Sue Wiley. Mrs. Graybeal was a life-long member of North Morganton Baptist Church.Surviving are her son, James Graybeal, Jr. and his wife, Trisha, of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Irish Hatchel and her husband, Ron, of Morganton and Nancy Vecchio and her husband, Bob, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Janina Linens, Marc Hatchel, Rob Vecchio, Jennifer Robins, and Julie Vaughn; and seven great-grandchildren, Hatchel, Lily, and Spencer Linens; Emily Hatchel, Maddie and Eli Vaughn, and Abby Robins.The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Monday at Sossoman Funeral Home.
