Rosa Lee "Jordan" Cook

Rosa Lee "Jordan" Cook, 86, of Mill Street, Glen Alpine, NC died Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born December 11, 1919 in Burke County, NC, a d was a daughter of the late Will Jordan and Elizabeth Carswell Jordan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Cook; and brothers, Walt, Mill, John, Brad, and Luther Jordan. Rosa was a member of the Praise Assembly of God where she taught Sunday school. She was a retired employee of Drexel Knitting Mill. Rosa was a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her daughter, Martha J. Franklin of Glen Alpine; a sister, Eva Frances Bollinger of Morganton; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and a number of extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Gurley officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes before the funeral hour.
