Rosa Mayfield Cook Hall, 98, of Valdese, NC died Monday, October 12, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on December 5, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Tipton Mayfield and Mittie Ann Whisnant Mayfield. Rosa was a retired employee of Alba-Waldensian.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her son, Jackie Cook and his wife, Tonia, of Valdese; a daughter, Martha Baldridge of Morganton; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pearl Peeler of Morganton.
In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cook; sons, Leroy, Dean, and Homer Cook; a daughter, Joyce Branch; brothers, Walter, Lee, Lloyd, Frank, and Albert Mayfield; and a sister, Pat Shuffler.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 4 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. David Orders officiating. Burial will follow in Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
