Rosalie Franklin

Rosalie Franklin, 91, of Morganton went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, February 11, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on November 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Waighstill Franklin and Emmie Lela Whisnant Franklin.  Rosalie was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and retired from Premier Hosiery.  She was a dedicated mother and enjoyed watching her great-nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by all.

Rosalie is survived by her son, Stephen Franklin of the home; sisters, Martha Blanchard and Betty Sue Allen; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Elizabeth Propst, Gladys Vaughn, Nellie Carswell, and Bessie Mulwee; and brothers, James and Carl Franklin.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  A celebration of Rosalie’s life will follow at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating.
