Rosemary Braun

Rosemary Braun, 97, of Morganton died Friday, March 23, 2018.  She was born in Columbus, OH on November 29, 1920.  Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Evart A. Braun; her father, Walter Yates; her mother and step-father, Esther Logan Anthony and Aubrey Anthony; sons, Aubrey and Paul Braun; and daughter, Emily Stump.

Mrs. Braun was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Guild.  She was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, working as an officer in the nurse corp.  She retired from nursing after working for 29 years at Broughton Hospital.

Rosemary is survived by her sons, William Braun of Ellensburg, WA and Anthony Braun and wife, Sandra of Drexel, NC; daughters, Cathleen Braun of Morganton, Suzanne Duncan of Morganton, and Laurie Braun of Wilmington, DE; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and her adopted children, Leone Miller and Linda Lewis.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.  The funeral Mass will follow 11 a.m. in the church with Rev. Father Kenneth Whittington officiating.  The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
