Roy Lawrence Barrier

Roy Lawrence Barrier, 78, of Morganton, NC died Monday, May 23, 2011. Born in Burke County, NC on April 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Adam Comador Barrier and Lola Singleton Barrier.Roy is survived by his sons, Michael Roy Barrier and wife, Elaine, of Glen Alpine, NC, Steven Lawrence Barrier and wife, Teresa, of Newland, and Brian Keith Barrier and wife, Michelle, of Morganton; a daughter, Pamela K. Barrier-Beck, and husband, Joe, of Morganton; step-children, Thomas Mull of Atlanta, GA and Lynn Mull of Lenoir, NC; brothers, Thomas Barrier of Newland, NC and Dale Barrier of Morganton; sisters, Evelyn Grindstaff of Forest City, NC and Jackie Clark of Morganton; grandchildren, Starla McClellan, Ian Beck, Tara Beck, Trevor Barrier, and Luke Barrier; and a great-grandchild, Zakery McClellan.The memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Dr. Larry Cline officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
