Roy T. Prueitt

Roy T. Prueitt, 88, of Morganton died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. Born on April 1, 1924 in Caldwell County, NC, he was the son of the late Eva Prueitt. Roy was an active member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church and was a past deacon and trustee. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and retired from Great Lakes Carbon after 26 years.Roy is survived by his wife, Effie Murphy Prueitt of the home; a son, Keith Prueitt and his wife, Tina, of Morganton; and his daughter, Debra Prueitt and her husband, Richard Hemphill, of Morganton.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Cross Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Jeffrey Beach and Rev. Clyde Buckner officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
