Ruby Causby Davis

Ruby Causby Davis, 86 of Hickory, NC died Monday, September 19, 2016. She was born in Burke County, NC on October 18, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Zeb Vance Causby and Tessie Ola Gurley Causby. Ruby was a former employee of Burands for 10 years, Lazarus for 28 years and Benjamin and Libbas. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Morganton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Othel Davis; daughter, Teresa Davis Corley; siblings, Pearl Cordell, Zet Murray, Paul Ed Causby, Roy Causby, Gene Causby, Louise Houck and Betty Biggerstaff.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Carrie Ellen Corley and Barton Davis Corley; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Union Memorial Gardens in Union, SC. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Drawer 459, Morganton, NC 28680 or to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, 5005 LBJ. Freeway Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
