Ruby Elizabeth Propst

Ruby Elizabeth Propst, 89, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on February 20, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Waighstill Franklin and Emmie Lela Whisnant Franklin. Ruby was of the Baptist faith and was a great aunt; she loved her nieces and nephews.Ruby is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Garrison and her husband, Stephen, of Morganton; sisters, Martha Blanchard, Rosalie Franklin, and Betty Sue Allen and her husband, George, all of Morganton; a special cousin, Effie McGalliard of Valdese; and a number of nephews and nieces.In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Frizard Propst, Jr.; an infant daughter, Elizabeth Propst; two brothers, James and Carl Franklin; and three sisters, Gladys Vaughn, Nellie Carswell, and Bessie Mullwee.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
