Ruby Joyce Riddle

Ruby Joyce Riddle, 75, of Morganton, NC died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Born in Watauga County, NC on September 22, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Spencer Fletcher and Rosa Isaac Fletcher. Mrs. Riddle was a humble woman who loved the Lord, her church, and her family. She was a member of Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Rex Gilbert Riddle of the home; a son, Van Keith Carswell of Vale; two step-sons, Michael Scott Riddle and Sherri and Larry Todd Riddle all of Morganton; grandchildren, Lacey Kate Reeves, Anna Lea Riddle and Lance Allen Riddle; great-grandson, Keegan Scott Reeves and a brother, Albert Fletcher of Morganton.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by a step-son, Allen Rex Riddle; seven brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with the Reverend Wallace Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service in Burke Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church, 3580 Playmore Beach Road, Lenoir, NC 28645.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
