Ruby Mooney Orders

Ruby Mooney Orders, 85, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, April 4, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on March 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Mooney and Annie Mae Duckworth Mooney.  Ruby was a member of Nowlings Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.  She owned and operated Village Beauty Shop for many years.  Ruby enjoyed traveling and being with people; she was a friend to all.

Mrs. Orders is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alva Nelson Orders; children, Jeff Orders and his fiancé, Connie Roper, and Johnny Orders and wife, Mary, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Kyle Orders and wife, Ashley, and Cole Orders; a number of step-grandchildren; a brother, Herman Mooney and friend, Agnes Collins, of Morganton; sisters, Carolyn Franklin of Morganton and Helen Genovesi and husband, Mario, of Catona, NY; a sister-in-law, Eloise Garrell of Holden Beach, NC; and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Hinman; and a sister-in-law, Lena Cloninger.

The graveside service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating.  The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Memories at the cemetery from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service.
