Ruby Stroup Dale

Ruby Stroup Dale, 95, formerly of East Ave., Morganton, NC died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Willow Ridge Nursing Center, Rutherfordton, NC. Born in Burke County, NC on August 7, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Ezra Stroup and Edith Shell Stroup. Ruby was a member of Mount Home Baptist Church, where she served for many years as a church clerk. She was a retired employee of Morganton Hosiery.Ruby is survived by her daughter, Jimmye Moore Williams and husband, Ken, of Johns Creek, GA; a granddaughter, Laura Ruzbacki and husband, Tim, of Rock Hill, SC; great-granddaughters, Emma Caroline Smith and Anna Claire Smith; and a large number of nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her first husband, James Milton Moore, and her second husband, Joseph Wilson Dale; a brother, Jerome Stroup; sisters Cozie Browning, Jennie Poteat, Mary Duckworth, Katie Hildebrand, Hester Browning, Jewel Foster, and Hazel Stroup.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 7, 2011 at Mount Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Home Baptist Church Graceful Giving Fund, 2272 Mount Home Ch. Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
