Ruby Tallent Hecht, 93, of Foothills Dr., Morganton, NC died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Grace Heights following a period of declining health. She was born December 5, 1913 in Walker County, GA and was a daughter of the late Cornelious Tallent and Alma Houston Tallent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Hecht; a brother, James Otis Tallent; and a sister, Flora Shuping. Ruby was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hecht is survived by sons, Louis W. Hecht of England, and Bruce B. Hecht of New Jersey; a brother, Jesse Carl Tallent of Morganton; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2007 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Cross officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Heights, Quality of Life Fund, 109 Foothills Dr., Morganton, NC 28655 or Brookwood Baptist Church, General Fund, 231 Brookwood Church Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.
