Russell Eugene McClure

Russell Eugene McClure, 73, of Morganton died Monday, July 2, 2012. Born in Swain County, NC on December 18, 1938, he was the son of the late Roby McClure and Mitilda Jane Woodard. Russell was a member of Grandview Baptist Church where he served as custodian, performed lawn maintenance, was homecoming chairman, and was the senior’s Sunday school teacher.Russell is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Sanders McClure of the home; a son, Bryan Keith Williams and wife, Emily, of Morganton; a daughter, Donna Lynn Helton and her husband, Jack, of Morganton; grandchildren, Jason Williams and Katrina Fox; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Mack McClure and his wife, Wanda, of Marion; sisters, Debbie Chacon, Reba Timmons, and Susie Webb, all of Morganton; and a number of nieces and nephews.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Grandview Baptist Church with Rev. John Whisnant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard.
