Russell S. Deal “Curly”, 93, of Glen Alpine, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was born on December 1, 1927 in Burke County to the late Clarence C. Deal and Myra Mull Deal. He was a member of Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Deal retired from Henredon Furniture and was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved fishing, hunting, singing and everything the Good Lord made. He loved his family but his greatest love was his wife, Lillian Mull Deal, who preceded him in death along with a daughter, Gwen Jackson.
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Moses and husband, Jim and Linda Crump and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Ricky Moses, Tony Moses (Lisa), Connie Crump-Powell, Annette Crump Kilpatrick (Rick), Tammy Moses Williams (Rusty); nine great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; brother, Ken Deal; sister, Edna Gordon; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church. The service will begin at 3:00pm in the church with Rev. Kenneth Milam officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
