Russell Senter

Russell Senter, 55, of Morganton, NC went Home on Friday, February 17, 2012. Born in Burke County, NC on October 19, 1956, he was the son of the late Robert Eugene Senter and Helen Jean Robinson Senter. Russell was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. He graduated from Freedom High School in 1974 and worked as a house parent at the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, TX. Later he moved back to Morganton and worked at the Morganton Regional Resource Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.Russell loved the outdoors, gardening, sports (especially UNC), animals, and our local Blue Ridge Mountains.Russell is survived by his wife of 25 years, Beverly Allen Senter; daughters, Stephanie Senter of the home and Cassandra "Cassie" Senter of Greensboro, NC; and brothers, Ricky Senter and wife, Sherry, of Morganton and Jerry Shockley and wife, Cathy, of Asheville, NC.A celebration of Russell’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Lineberger officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to the Deaf Misson c/o First Baptist Church, P.O.
