Ruth Ann Ivan

Ruth Ann Ivan, 58 of Raintree Lane, Morganton, NC died unexpectedly Monday, November 1, 2010 at Grace Hospital. Born July 4, 1952 in Frankfort, KY, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Sally Downey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Vern Downey. Ruth was a member of St. Charles Barromeo Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.Surviving is her husband of thirty-nine years, Francis J. "Jim" Ivan of the home; a daughter, Monica Ivan Travis and husband, Michael of Wilmington, NC; and sisters and their husbands, Donna and Al Lascola of Ohio, Patty and Joe Oriti of Ohio, and Sandra and Roger Bunn of Utah.A funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Whittington officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Sossoman Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
