Ruth Bean Curtis

Ruth Bean Curtis, 85 of the Chesterfield Community died Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Ruth was born November 25, 1925 in Burke County to the late Walter E. Bean and Elmer Martha Whisnant Bean. She was a member of Hartland Missionary Methodist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard James Curtis, 3 sisters and a brother.Ruth is survived by sons, Wade Curtis and his wife, Martha and Stony Curtis and his wife, Sandra; sister, Bessie Curtis, all of Morganton; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a special friend, Susan Mauldin of Hickory.Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 at Hartland Missionary Methodist Church with the Reverends Danny Carr and Stony Curtis officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. Sossoman Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family.
