Ruth Carolyn Stairs Lawrence

Ruth Carolyn Stairs Lawrence, 88, of Grace Heights, died Sunday, May 08, 2011. Mrs. Lawrence was born December 31, 1922 in Stoneham, Massachusetts, to the late Jerome and Ruth Mae Lambert Stairs. She was a Chef for 17 years at Southern Adventist University and enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip E. Lawrence and a brother, Stuart Stairs.She is survived by her children and their spouses, Linden L. Lawrence (Marilyn), Sandra Nowacki (Dave) David E. Lawrence (Paula), Naomi R. Smith (Harold), Ramona L. Grant (Bob), Thomas M Lawrence and Rebecca M Lawrence (Anthony Guadagno); 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Pastors Robert Grant and Barry Mahorney officiating. Burial will follow in the Table Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
