Ruth Clark Bonomo

Ruth Clark Bonomo, 84 of Morganton, NC passed away Sunday, Mother’s Day, May 10, 2020 at Grace Hospital.

Ruth was born in Nebo, NC. She was the daughter of “Sandy” and Iva Clark. She was second in line if siblings; her sister, Pansy Clark Lane.

Ruth graduated High School from Glen Alpine and college from Mars Hill. She began her career as a Laboratory technician in Winston Salem at Baptist Hospital for many years and then as an apartment manager in Morganton for over seventeen years. She always brought professionalism and attention to detail to her job. Ruth was married on June 16, 2001 to Dr. Edward C. Bonomo and lived in the Piper Glen area of Charlotte until 2015 and moved to Morganton that December. Ruth was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morganton. Ruth was a kind, loving, caring wife with the passion and virtues of a Southern lady. Her beautiful presence with that warming smile gave all who knew her sincerity with everyone who she met.

Ruth is survived by her husband Dr. Edward C. Bonomo and her son, Mike Powell, of Hickory, NC and his wife Jammie and son, Ty. Sister, Pansy Lane, of Morganton, her daughter, Linda Smith of Morganton and her son, Bill Lane and wife Kathy of Hickory. Linda’s two sons, Austin and Johnaton Smith and his wife Cristina. Ruth’s stepdaughters, Deborah Ann Bonomo of McKinney Texas and Tricia Anne Bonomo Guertel and husband Steve, and their two children, Reese and Remy of Prosper, Texas. As well as Ed’s sister. Elizabeth Marriott of Greensboro, NC and Peter Marriott of Charlotte and Jessica, and Christopher Marriott and his wife Amy of Greensboro.

Funeral Arrangements and services are to be determined at a future time.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
