Ruth J. Bollinger

Ruth J. Bollinger, 89, of Bollinger Loop, Morganton, NC died peacefully surrounded by her family on January 6, 2008 at her residence. She was born June 13, 1918 in Burke County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Marshall Duckworth and Sally Mace Duckworth. Ruth attended Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed her flower garden and crocheting. Ruth was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Faye Norman and husband, Lou, Juanita Crotts and husband, Sam, and Ann Carswell and husband, PeeWee, all of Morganton; sons, Henry and Garland Bollinger, both of Morganton; granddaughters, Penny, Tammy, Tracy, Ashley, and Wendy; grandsons, Lynn, Eddie, Andy, Lewis, and Johnny; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Herman Duckworth and wife, Judy, of Morganton; and sisters, Annie Ree Epley of Glen Alpine, NC and Faye Rhyne of Valdese, NC.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Bollinger; a son, Hatch Bollinger; brothers, Glen, Ruben, John, Stan Duckworth; and a sister, Margaret Lambert.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 until 11 am at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at Mrs. Bollinger’s residence, 5795 Bollinger Loop, Morganton.
