Ruth Neil Phillips Horne

Ruth Neil Phillips Horne, 78, of Drexel, died Thursday, January 9, 2014. She was born on July 25, 1935 in Robeson County to the late Clarence Dean Phillips, Sr. and Lillian Mae Lewis Phillips. She was of the Baptist faith and a loving mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Ruth Horne; and siblings, Clarence Dean Phillips, Jr., Ava Grace Glisson, and Carl Grey Phillips.She is survived by her children, Wanda Horne Nesbitt and her other half, Charles Church of Connelly Springs and Patrick Neil Horne and girlfriend, Crystal Rose of Marion; a special adopted daughter, Pam Karr of Morganton; grandchildren, Katrina Rose Pittman and significant other, Jason Weathers, Cadence Grace Davis, and Garrett Silas Davis; great-grandchildren, Jayla Danielle Pittman and Lucas Ryder Pittman; siblings, Betty and Melvin Palmer of Morganton, William and Rhonda Phillips, Barbara Jean Phillips, Donald Ray and Maria Phillips, all of Lumberton, NC and Larry Phillips of Greenville, NC.The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Sossoman Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 1:00 until 2:30 pm at Floyd Mortuary in Lumberton. A graveside service will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery.
