Ruth Perry Ramsey, 82, of Valdese went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2013. Born in Burke County on September 12, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Ulys Wiley Perry and Hessie Mae Poteet Perry Sprouse. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Clifton Ramsey; a brother, Ulys William "Buddy" Perry, and sisters, Molly Wright, Louse Baker, and Inez Walker.Ruth was a member of High Peak Baptist Church.Ruth is survived by her son, Ken Ramsey and his wife, Pamela; daughter, Robin Berthelot, both of Valdese; a brother, James C. Perry of Charlotte; a sister, Nelda King of Greensboro; grandchildren, Matthew McGalliard of Valdese and Heather Anderson and her husband, Aaron of Terrell, NC; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Brayden and Stella.The family will be holding a private graveside service. Memorial contribution may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
