Ruth Triplett Daye, 83, of Morganton peacefully went home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 22, 2017 while surrounded by her family. Born in Caldwell County, NC on December 12, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. Triplett and Ida Green Triplett.
Ruth was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church where she faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and WMU Director. She worked as a bookkeeper at Morganton Hardware, Mutual Savings and Loan in Lenoir, and her husband’s business.
She unconditionally loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Jerry “Chuck” Daye, II and wife, Tamisue, of Morganton and Greg Daye and wife, Cheryl of Valdese, NC; daughters, Anita Pattishall and husband, Glenn, of Hickory and Arlene Anderson and husband, Larry, of Morganton; grandchildren, Jennifer Pattishall Davis, Geoffrey Pattishall, Gregory Daye, Emily Tate, Jeremiah Daye, Jordan Daye, Josh Anderson, and Lindsey Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jakob Daye, Willow Hudgins, and James Davis; and sisters, Joan Houk and husband, Camuel, and Sue Smith.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry D. Daye; brothers, Doug and Bill Triplett; and a sister, Judy Farmer.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at North Morganton Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
