Ruzell "Susie" Pitts

Ruzell "Susie" Pitts, 90, of Glen Alpine, NC died Thursday, November 21, 2013. Born March 10, 1923 in Cleveland County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Alfred McClure Pruett and Vernia Towery Pruett. Ruzell was devoted to her family who considered her the greatest "Nanny".She is survived by sons, Charles Pitts and wife, Trudy of Drexel, NC, Andy Pitts and wife, Denise of Morganton, NC, and Miles Pitts and wife, Jean of Glen Alpine; grandchildren, Ashley Rogers, William Pitts, Hannah Fox, Todd Pitts, Ashley Atkinson, Amy Piercy, and Brian Bradshaw; great-grandchildren, Hana Piercy, Matthew Piercy, Jacy Romero, Greyson Fox, Nole Fox, Drew Rogers, Liam Bradshaw, and Brooke Lawrence; and brothers, Gene Pruett and wife, Lillian, and Robert Pruett and wife, Jackie, all of Morganton.In addition to her parents, Ruzell was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Pitts; brothers, Clyde, Buren, Howard M., and James Andrew Pruett; and a sister, Ocie Pruett.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. Burial will follow in Glen Alpine Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
