Sadie Belle Farris Eller, 96, of Drexel, NC died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Autumn Care of Drexel. Born in Burke County, NC on April 18, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Calvin Epley and Myrtie Epley Epley. Sadie was an active member of Morganton First Church of God where she sang in the choir and was active in the W.C.G. Sadie retired from Alba Waldensian, having worked at the John Louis plant in Valdese.Sadie is survived by her sons, James Garmon Farris and wife, Pat, of Drexel and Charles N. Farris and wife, Jeanette, of Rutherford College, NC; a daughter, Betty Farris Price; grandchildren, Brian Farris, Libby Kelly, Jon Farris, Kevin Farris, Rick Farris, Tim Farris, Joel Price, Renee Price, and Annette Price; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Raye Whitener Parrish of Columbia, SC; and a number of nephews and nieces.In addition to her parents, Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Eller; brothers, Homer, Howard, and Roy Epley; sisters, Carrie Clontz, Ethel Farris, Myrtle Downs, and Beulah Epley; an infant sister; and a son-in-law, Ernest Price.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 1, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Smith and Rev. Dr. Don Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
