Samantha “Mandy” Mathews, 45, of Morganton, NC passed away on Saturday June 8, 2024. She was born on December 6, 1978 in Mason County, KY to the late David Mathews and Barbara Wilson Mathews. She worked for Burke County Social Services as a Program Integrity Investigator.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Mathews; the father of her son, Timothy Tower.

She is survived by her son, Jayden Tower; brother, Kevin Mathews.

The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30pm Mike Johnson officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

We had some really good times in high school. We went our different ways, and made families but still kept in touch. You were such a a kind person. You were an amazing mom.
